Where reviews come from
Reviews on BuilderMatch come only from homeowners who completed a project through the app. One review per project. Nobody else can post one.
A review is removed only if it:
did not come from a verified, completed project
identifies someone other than the reviewer, or includes personal information
contains threats, slurs, or harassment
is about something other than the project
duplicates another review of the same project
is withdrawn by the homeowner who wrote it
must be removed to comply with a legal obligation
A review is not removed for:
being negative or critical
a low rating
a disagreement about price, scope, or timeline
the firm disputing the facts, which is what the response feature is for
Removals are decided by BuilderMatch, not by the firm being reviewed, and membership status is never a factor.
A firm may post one public response to any review of it. The response appears beneath the review and never replaces it.
